I thought I would post some images of my very early start on my Pony Wars project. I had originally started this project in 15mm scale, trying to follow along with the original rules. After working on it for a bit I wondered if I could do this project in my favorite scale instead. The answer I believe to this question is YES!
Additional I thought I would share a few things on how I paint my miniatures perhaps it will be of some small use to someone out there.
This is a new priming procedure for me. I have mixed Mod Podge with grey paint and some windshield wiper fluid.

I normally I spray prime my miniatures but on this project I decided to apply with a brush. Here are a few results of the priming. I can say the base primer color does not cover completly but the painting over it is much better than my spray primer method.

The above figures came from Imex.

Imex has an excellent selection of wagons and Indians. Some finished shots.

My plan is to use the Blackpowder rules for the combat and a very simple random placement for troops arriving on the board. The original Pony War rules are inspring but not really very useful for wargaming in the 21st century.
Additional I want to see how many of the plastic companies I can use for this project. Here are a few additional finds I scored on EBAY.

This box is loaded with tons of wagons!!

Waterloo 1815 has some excellent 7th cavalry figures and Sioux warriors. Unfortunatly the Sioux warriors are very rare I only scored 1 box so far. The cavalry is easily had. I also decided to get some Atlantic figures reissued by Nexus. Have some 7th cavalry and a buffalo herd!

The only two wagon types not in the wagon train box.

I want to stay on track and finish this project in a reasonable amount of time. I tend to jump around from project to project but I hope I can stay focused for a few weeks anyway!
Thanks for having a look.
