The scene from the Duelists film shows the horror of this campaign. You can literally feel the cold.

I tried the gray on some corpses but they did not look right?
The tragedy of this retreat was that thousands of men women and children were just not prepared for the cold and had very little suitable clothing to survive. Most of the soldiers only had their uniforms and whatever else they could scavage.
I hope to convey the hopelessness of this retreat along with the undoubted courage of the reargaurd held together by the will and leadership of Marshall Ney.
