Surprisingly .. I now understood how impressed I was always on your work. It - movie stills. Production of lighting and placement of figures. Plans. The dynamics of having a common direction. Influence of Caravaggio and Murillo .... I could be wrong, of course ...
After a few months of heavy working and with my mind long away from the hobby, I’m back. I can see some changes on posting... let’s see if I can deal with it…
I’ve completed my Aztec/Conquistadores range… for now (maybe, in the future, I’ll include a Maya army and a few more Conquistador bases)
New Bases:
Aztec Command (The mark for Command bases will be the including of a priest figure, the guy dressed with the funny conical hat)
Triple Alliance Eagle Knights and Command
Triple Alliance Jaguar Knights
Warband (made out of suit wearers that were after individual prestige and choose to fight separate from their clan)
Wonderful figs and painting, I enjoy it. Please, can you you post us still the link of the fotos that we can still study und appreciate your work still more? Some of the pics are quite small
Thank you very much Paul for fixing all the lost Picture links on this thread.
When I got some time, I must read carefully your posts about how I can help you moderators on fixing the missing Photobucket links. I lost them all and I would like them back.
Dear Konrad, I've seen it many times...
Sansovino, just click on the pictures and you'll see their real size.
Next time I'll try with different link code but was my first time with this uploading system...
Very nice figures, the spanish flag is outstanding, my favourite aspect of this soldiers. I prefer how the spanish have come out rather than the aztecs, I see them a bit "dark", I imagine them with very bright colours (although maybe it wouldn't be historically accurate, I wouldn't know for sure).
Damn, this reminds me I have not any of these sets yet!
Yes, what dip do you use to get that great dull metallic look on your Spanish. I may have already asked this on some TYW figures you posted but I don't remember.
Hi davbenbak, sorry for taking so long to answer your question but I'm quite isolated right now and with not every day access to internet...
First, I paint with black enamel all the metallic surfaces (matte black for cheap or worked out metal, satin for high quality armour). Second, very diluted oiled steel acrylic coat over black matt or not so diluted raw steel acrylic over satin black, depending the kind of quality I want to represent. If I want to paint it like expensive first class armour, diluted silver acrylic coat over it. And finished with my traditional mixture of black/brown diluted enamel and varnish matt coat.
But I've advised to use Postimage instead of Photobucket (to avoid advertising over pictures) and I recall that I did use Postimage for the latest pictures posted in here... And I can't see them... I'm going to try again and see if it works before to decide where to upload my next job (hopefully tomorrow...)
