Officers Mess

Failing any other kind of pictures...

Posted by Adam on 15 Jun 2008, 23:30

O.K lame no pictures or painting from me for a million years, I have got some more done, but none for a few months as a combinations of busy/lazy/geeky distractions.

However, I have had a few requests for pictures of me playing silly bugger reenactors sooo here are a few to whet you whistle.

Image
Our Viking house in York

Image
a banquet in the long hall (thats my mrs trying to "bring wimples back"... which is never going to happen)

Image
me togged up in wargear training one of the young uns

Image
That drinking horn had been round many times, it holds nearly three pints and was full of whiskey (scotch) nobody told me and Osric (the guy drinking) that they were just sipping and passing it on... needless to say we were "well done" enough here, and it only got worse.

Image
me playing the lyre

Image
Me loosing arrows

and lastly in honour of Sanders last paint job
Image
Me as a pirate.

(all the stuff I'm wearing- spears helmets, shields clothes, everything, were made by me in my workshop)

Looks like a lot of fun!

The helmets, cloats etc are very nice. I first thought you bought them! You also made the bow yourself?

Nothing is hard to make, its just easy to balls up!

Seriously though, no but it require a bit of reading, practice but nothing that shoul dput anyone off having a go. 6 years ago I didn't believe I could do any metal work, then I made a vikign helmet. Then I didn't believe i woul dever be able to do proper forging, thi svery weekend I knocked out 3-4 knife blades in the sunshine drinking beer, so never say never.

Yeah and if he's doing this in public...one can only imagine what goes on behind closed doors.

Thanks for your kind words Peter, don't worry too much about efb.

Thing is he srt of sees me as some kind of Hero/Fathe rfigure secretly, and of course what do we do? We ridicule those which we love the most, so the more he takes the mickey, the more we can see his adulation shining through.

Thank you Adam, but I don't worry about efb. He can't help but he's an American. I work with this peolple almost every day on base, so I can have something. :-) Sometimes they're just......weird!
And he sends you cards, so no problems for me at all.
