Here are a few photos of my version of Perry Miniatures’ Thomas Picton who is nearing completion. He just needs touching up in one or two areas, and then basing alongside Wellington and perhaps Uxbridge.
These first photos show him painted but unvarnished. As I paint in oils the linseed carrier oil that aids in the paint flow ends up giving a gloss sheen to the finished figure. Definitely a distraction for the observer.
In the mounted version I have put some of my new AK ultra Matt varnish on him and boy does it improve the figure enormously.
