Comparison of painting styles Half Ogre!

Posted by Peter on 06 Mar 2022, 12:33

I made a remark on the topic of Konrad about the painting styles of his figure and that one of Dalibor (Kekso). And Konrad asked me: "Xhy don't you put them in one topic?"

So I did. Here they are. Explanation about the figures can be found in their topics:

Both well done using different styles. Kekso's photographs earn extra points for dramatic lighting. I painted maybe 100 fantasy figures in 28mm and found them quite challenging after nothing but 1/72. I still have several huge resin dragons to paint for my son who is into DND including the 5 headed one with a 16" wingspan. I worry that will take months as slow as I paint.

Nice comparison
Good to see painting styles confronted, but don't know which I prefer. 2 masters at work.
In any case it is a funny figure

Maybe it looks better with a black background.

I think black is better but the light is a bit harsh and hides much of the detail you laboriously painted. I'm amazed at the sculpts coming out all the time, so many choices and so many talented makers. This guy certainly looks like a handful but a good friend to have in your Frostgrave party.
