No - it's infanty *in advance*. Due to the fact that running exhausts an infantryman pretty quick and that the formation itself should be kept up as long as possible, a full charge would have been ordered only after reaching short distance to the enemy line.
Whatever they get named they will be the core of my future Bavarian army to the tune of several boxes. I think the lower leg is a tad short on these which is a vast improvement over the short arms of the Imperial guard.
Good advancing figures. Wish they made French grenadiers too (and Russians etc.). I’m still pretty sure those advancing French grenadiers were announced once?
I have to buy a set of those just to have a mounted drummer for conversion. I can find excuses to buy almost any set, just practicing to tell the wife why I bought them. Funny because just last night I was having dreams of making a mounted band for the dragoons imperiale de la garde. I don't recall ever seeing anyone create one before, at least not in 1/72 scale.

It just occurred to me that hopefully these figures won't suffer from what many other mounted Strelets units do; they don't fit. We've all had a set where you push the figure down in the saddle and they shoot about 10 feet across the room.
Let me pick my jaw up. Oh my that is not only exquisite but exactly the uniform I was thinking of! How did you come by so many instruments? You even painted the eyes on this fellows! Just fantastic, this is just how I was envisioning them! Crazy. Maybe I'll have to do a Grenadier band then (did they have one?). Anyhow, this is an amazing accomplishment and my congratulations to you for doing it in such style. And thank you for sharing this with me (all of us actually), it's really inspiring to see work like yours. Cheers, Bessiere
I gotta say I really love that sapper, he's got real character. Very nice officers too. Rank and file?...not so much. I'll stick with the marching set. Great figures for bulking up some Austrian infantry units with their overcoats making for a quick paint job.
