Pegasus Bridge 6-7 juin 1944

Hello everybody !
I'm finally coming back to post pictures of my latest diorama.
The Pegasus Bridge taken intact by the English paratroopers on June 6, 1944. The troops will be able to use it.

The troops stop for a photo. They pose with a war trophy!

That's amazing. Cool idea for a dio. Is the bridge scratch build or the Italeri / Sarissa one?
I have been on the original spot different times since 2010.

Hello, thank you for your comment. Yes it's the italeri kit that I improved by putting windows and rivets like on the metal structure.

Out of what you made the rivets? Looking good to me. But also a lot of work.

A beautifully composed and realised original concept.

The ground work and modelling is superb.

I do like filthy troops, vehicles etc and everything does seem rather clean post ‘coup de main’.

Nevertheless, a superb diorama as always.

It all makes me want to make a return visit to Normandy to walk across this very famous bridge.

Mabo: I made the rivets with 3D decorative paint for glass or porcelain. It was done in 1 hour.

C M Dodson : It is true that it is not too dirty but there are traces of combat. sockets, broken windows...
I didn't want to make it too bloody with traces of blood on the ground from the various dead. After for vehicles the landing beaches (sword beach) is only 10 km away...

Minuteman: It is true that Normandy is a region steeped in history. And it is with pleasure that I will return one day.

My comments were meant as an observation not a criticism.

The weather on the sixth was dreadful, but a reprieve on what had just blown through as thankfully forecast by Mr Stagg.

I have been to Pegasus bridge and your model does it proud.

I agree with huib's opinion, stephane42. It's a wonderful diorama full of lovely details and we would need some more pictures to be able to appreciate them all as they deserve.

Really a master piece. Great work and good composition. I really enjoy looking at these pictures.
We definetly need more pictures from more angles. I think you put lot of details in it, which we can't see yet.

That´s a very cool idea for using this bridge instead of showing the fight. I like the photo scene. The only thing I would have changed is, that the bridge looks like freshly painted and cleaned...and there are no evidences of the fight took place some days or hours ago.

Wrong country and bridge my friend! This bridge is from "The Longest day". "Hold untill relieved!".

Wonderfull work on this bridge and figures! I love it!

Did you use woodfiller to hide where parts are put together? Always usefull to know for when I will built mine one day! Just like that 3D paint.
