I have played the 17th Century naval and they werent bad...Downloaded the Hopolite rules, they didnt seem too bad though not exactly what I was after..

I've used the red actions rules, they are gret fun, lots of period character, but the rules are written in a rambling chatty style so it is difficult to check up on specifics. The firing table was rather clumsy with plusses/minuses on dice and/or columns so I rewrote it.

I also have used the russian civil war variant ancd can recommed them.
Units are companys and are made up of bases so its up to you how many figures you put on a base, betwen 2 to 4 seems about right.

yeah I am adapting the rules for Very Civil actions to 25mm warlord stuff.
