General Wargaming

Pyrrhus and friends

My 20mm Pyrrhic/Early Successor army is growing dangerously close to completion.

A colourful lot _ Epirotes, Macedonians, quite a few Italic allies, various Greek mercenaries:

Left wing cavalry & Nellies:

The Dreaded Pike Bloc (one unit to come):

The Great Man himself :

Still need some more medium infantry - more thureophori:

A splendid array, well done donald! Certainly this is a varied and interesting ancient army, and your ingenuity and painting has done it full justice.

Thanks for all the kind words.

Pyrrhus is now back in his drawer. I've long had Carthaginian and Polybian Roman armies and I'm just waiting for the opportunity of a wargame with one or the other against Pyrrhus' warriors. I wish to try out the 'Hail Caesar' rules.
Sadly, I don't have the 4+ hours I need for a game at the moment so photos will need to wait.
