Well the duel was over, and I had some water trouble and a long weekend in between, so here is who won:
Mr. X did win this duel with 8 votes, and Peter got the other 4 of only 12 votes...
Congratulations to Mr. X, this is the first win this year, let's hope more will follow.
And our old Mr. X Peter, let's say better luck next time, bet thaks for dueling mr. X again.
To the other 11 voters, thanks a lot, I wish more members would hit the button for a vote!
To all who didn't vote... WHY? It's a hobby, I really don't understand why you can't make it more fun, shame on you!

Congrats to you both. You've done a nice job on a very ugly figure!

It is disappointing that the votes seem to be decreasing every month now, it's not doing justice to the efforts being put on display for the competition.

I spent a couple of weeks unable to log back onto the forum before the situation was resolved or I would have voted. Will definitely be voting next time.
Looking at, and being humbled by, other people's work is always hun.

On top of every duel there are the titles of the entries with two points where you can click on one. That is the way to vote. Didn't you see this?

Well done to both Mr X and Peter! Both examples of fine painting.

This stumpy officer figure from the old Airfix set is one of those sculpts that tends to stick in my memory; partly because at the time when this set was still new, an officer on foot was a useful pose, but partly also because this poor old chap could do with a couple or millimetres more of height!

That figure sends me long way back down memory lane! I had the Americans and a pal had the brits. Mine were unpainted and he painted his with pencils and I thought they looked so good. I never tried. But have painted some since then but with acrylics and brushes and such. Voted on Mr X, not only because I liked that figure a little more, but still waiting on that shipload of beer Peter promised me if I voted on his figure.

My congratulations to both duelists.

This time my vote went to Mr. X's American rebel instead of Peter's English officer and gentleman. However, the decision was difficult because of the quality of both figures.

I missed this duel but I am sorry about it! Both figures are quite well done. The classic Airfix guys always look great, especially given quality paint jobs using modern materials and techniques. Congrats to both.

Thank you all for the nice comments! It was fun painting this old figure of my childhood! ;-)

Congrats Mr X, all the best for your next duels!

@Gunnar: I've sended you a whole ship with beer some time ago. The ship's name is "Vasa". Maybe you can find out what happened with it. ;-)
