This was the first 13th-14th century figure I painted in my life. Since I was not too familiar with the period, I had to do a lot of research to find plausible colors. I set out consciously to make the shirt over the chain mail as detailed as I could swing it. I got the red on a little too thick, which made the lions a bit tough to paint. Also, the face ended up looking better in real life than it did in this photo. The title was obviously intended to evoke that great English victory at Agincourt.
Since it was April (Spring), I thought it would be fun to have a green background, although I ended up never doing that again. Strolch had a really nice entry, and it ended up being a pretty close duel. Dalibor stated that he voted for the funnier title, but I'm afraid I don't get the joke.
One last note: after this duel, I decided to stop leaving a black line visible between colors on the figure. Some other painters seem to be able to pull that off better than I am able to.
