Sandbags all scales

Posted by Paul on 14 Feb 2011, 18:09

Just nicked this from another forum so.... :sst:
Sandbag Recipe

2 cups of flour
1 cup of cold water
1 cup of salt

Mix flour and salt together. Gradually add the water to make a smooth yet medium stiff dough. Add food colouring, to pre-colour the dough. Add two tablespoons of white glue to further toughen the clay. Form into desired shapes and bake at 170° Centigrade (325° Fahrenheit) for several hours until dry and hard. Paint and drybrush as desired.

Some pictures on how they look.

I had a look at the picture, and they look a bit as croquettes ;-)

I hope you don't have to taste them after baking

Serious, it's a good tutorial  , because you can make them in the shape you want. For soem reason it never works with pre-made ones :? .

I use two-part epoxy putty (Alteco) for sandbags. See my tutorial about building a mortar emplacement.
