A Morris amoured car in Frane 1940

Posted by JurgenH on 23 Mar 2024, 14:33

Hello
After a long time I have started something again. This time it goes to England.
It is a Morris CS 9 amoured carvon Planet model. It is a cast of the model of the desert version.
Since I could not cast all parts I made many parts scratch, some are from the grab box. I took the differential, cardan shaft and mudguards from there. The wheels are also cast from a Morris 15 cwt from IBG.
About the kit.
Very nice resin kit with 3 D printed parts, a nice etching board. Caution !!!
The decal for the Italian version is wrongly translated.

Here are the first steps to build the Morris.

The floor assembly would be very difficult to cast. At least without a vacuum pump. That's why I built it scratch. The process itself was not difficult. I had the original part as a template.
The orange part contains the impression of the engine.

Part 2 will follow shortly.

Hello Guys

Part 2
I continue with the Morris.
On the first picture you can see all the parts I have cast

The next picture shows further progress in assembly and coloring.

Here you can see the main coponets. Hull ,Wheels Tower
Image
Here you can see some modifications. I had to add some plastic sheeting to the roof as I had lowered it a bit.
Image
Here I had to replace some door handles that were not well molded.

After a lot of research I found the right color for me, English Khaki NR 3.
The color information in the blueprint is a bit vague. No company name. Just Khaki No 3 and Deep Green No 4.

That's it from me and the Morris for now.
I hope you like the report.

Greetings
Jürgen

Looks like a nervous job. I had to scratch build a part of the gear for a small Piper Cup from Mister Craft. Not my piece of cake,,, :affraid: So I am impressed if someone can handle small things like these.

In the end I found the missing part... to late. :eh:

Hello all. Here is Part 3 ofmy Morris amoured car.

Here are new pictures of the construction of the Morris.
You wouldn't believe it but it took me 2 attempts and 45 minutes to build the 6 nummbers.
I hope you have fun with the pictures.

I made the mudguards from the parts of a Matador from Airfix. The armament is from the Fujimi set 8th Army. In addition there are small parts like mirrors, direction finders and indicators (today they are called turn signals), and the small headlights on the fenders which I made from the etched parts sheet.

On the first picture you can also see the desert morris which I built partly parallel to it.
But there will be an extra report on this.
