Because the work of Wolfgang, Patrick and their friends fascinates me so much, I searched at the internet for the Rosenberg fortress. Amazing to see almost all of it is still there today in Bayern, like one of Wolfgangs pictures revealed to us already in this topic.

http://www.kronach.de/en/fortress-rosen ... rmany.html
https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Festung_Rosenberg

The most dramatic historical moment of the Rosenberg Fortress and the adjacent fortified town of Kronach was between 1632 and 1634 when the town and fortress were besieged by the protestant Swedes and their German allies during the Thirty Years War. Records tell us about the role of the catholic woman of Kronach helping to defend their town successfull against the Swedes.

Wolfgang probably choose the 1806 Napoleonic period for his magnificent diorama because by the beginning of the 19th century the inner buildings of the castle and the stone build bastions got their final appearance like they still do today, apart from some minor details and the destruction of some outer earthworks.
But please correct me if I am wrong Wolfgang.

I am very curious to see the first French figures appearing.

I too am fascinated by this project and have a wish to get into every detail of its construction, since I whish someday that I can also produce the similar artwork dioramas...But I am aware that this colossal work must be a product of a great team work and much of study...

Thanks @ all!

@ Mr. Cryns

The history of the fortress, all right.

@ Emperor

Emmanuel Nouaillier is a great artist and diorama builder.
This book by him is in German language. We use many techniques from him.

The almost-finished large barracks with his buildings and the moat. The first elements of the bastions can be seen already. As fortress artillery 12-pounder and heavy fortress guns are used. The are at Jörg Schmäling from Art-Miniatures nearing completion.

This is against all basics of German Fachwerk building :-D . Are these windows in your Kasern later additions to an older construction?

Hello Mr. Cryns,

you're absolutely right. So do not look at the window of the half-timbered building. Patrick will make the new half timbered.

Thank you!

Best regards,

Wolfgang

Hi Wolfgang, may I ask you guys produced the 1000's of roof tiles and shingles? The biggest problem for is always the roof when I am building houses etc.
That's why I mostly use 1/87 roofs from the train sector :-(

Hi Photoro Man,

Wolfgang you make me happy! And you keep me curious at the same time.

I was already worrying a little bit: why are no new pictures coming up from you. At least 2 of 5 bastions look finished now. So you can go in piece on holiday now. This model will be finished by november anyhow. But how about the figures? Who is working on them now?
