Because the work of Wolfgang, Patrick and their friends fascinates me so much, I searched at the internet for the Rosenberg fortress. Amazing to see almost all of it is still there today in Bayern, like one of Wolfgangs pictures revealed to us already in this topic.
http://www.kronach.de/en/fortress-rosen ... rmany.htmlhttps://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Festung_RosenbergThe most dramatic historical moment of the Rosenberg Fortress and the adjacent fortified town of Kronach was between 1632 and 1634 when the town and fortress were besieged by the protestant Swedes and their German allies during the Thirty Years War. Records tell us about the role of the catholic woman of Kronach helping to defend their town successfull against the Swedes.
Wolfgang probably choose the 1806 Napoleonic period for his magnificent diorama because by the beginning of the 19th century the inner buildings of the castle and the stone build bastions got their final appearance like they still do today, apart from some minor details and the destruction of some outer earthworks.
But please correct me if I am wrong Wolfgang.
I am very curious to see the first French figures appearing.
