Ooooh! Kibri! Remember how I searched for them a long time ago but was told they were out of production. Very cool to see them. The Sioux comes from a Spanish company and it seems that you can buy files from them and print. Their horses doesn't look that good in my opinion (too stocky) https://www.3dbreed.es/product/sioux-pack-01/, but there are some nice horses in Alliance's Mounted Amazon set https://kamar-zinnfiguren.de/en/Scale-1-72/Figures-1-72/1-72-figures-sorted-by-era/Fantasy-383/Amazons-Set-2-Cavalry--1-72.html .

Just a short update on my Pony Wars project. I must confess that the Waterloo 1815 US Cavalry figures due to their large size is bothering me quite a bit and has slightly derailed my initial enthusiasm for the project. I should have read more carefully the review on PSR which says they are too large to be much good!!! Oh well. I have decided to use Atlantic figures on Eagle Games horses with a few Airfix cavalry that I have obtained.
Here re a few shots of the US Cavalry that I did finish.

Next up I did a bit more work on my new matchstick fort. Only the front towers and gate are needed for the game. Thats why it looks they way it does!

I have taken a break from painting the Pony Wars stuff and switched to a 28mm Warlord figures WWII US Paratroopers which I have had sitting around waiting to be painted for quite sometime. I will get back to Pony Wars soon.

Thanks for looking!

Big but looking good painted, Paul!

I would have mixed the poses on the bases alittle bit more. ;-)

Hi, have you thought about using Strelet's US Cavalry 1? I bought multiple sets to use. They seem to look ok to me. I'll see if I can dig them out and take a pic with the Imex Indians.

Thanks

John

Thanks for the comments fellas. Peter I was kind of stuck with pose matching for the bases. The flag bearer and officer I put on a single base as the command element and the bugler and the guy shooting I wanted to face to the outside of the base. Another complaint I have for the Waterloo 1815 sets is that you get 2 flags, 2 officers and 2 buglers per box of 14! Hardly enough troopers.

John the Strelets sets are very hard to come by and the only set I saw was over seas priced around $22 US thats before shipping. Too rich for my blood.

I like your paintjob, but the Waterloo figs are a little stiff, in my eyes. And I am with you concerning the multiple command figures. The same problem one has with the last Italeri-sets.

The matchstick fort will be great, I am sure.!

Keep up the good work.

The blues on the cavalry look very fine, and I particularly like the flags!

Your completed US cavalry and the 'match-stick' fort are all looking very good.

One of the pleasures of this Hobby is having the capacity to switch between projects, finding then a few weeks later on that your enthusiasm for an earlier project has returned. It may not help overall progress, but this is a hobby after all, for enjoyment rather than pure output.....

Or that is what I keep telling myself anyway, as the unfinished projects mount up! :-D

That fort looks fantastic, Paul, as well as the Waterloo 1815 US cavalrymen.

It's a shame they are so big compared to other 1/72 figures. I was very disappointed when I bought them a few years ago. :(

Santi.
