Hi
just want to say that the Uniform in the plate Peter shows is the uniform that was in use AFTER the war of liberation (in the 1815 campaign the Life Hussars as Regiments were not involved).
If you want to paint them for 1812 to 1814 then both regiments have the uniform that is shown in Vallions link, the first Leib Husaren with white shoulder straps, the second whith red. The official trousers were the grey ones used by all units throughout the prussian army. The NCO´s had black fur on the pelisse, the officers grey. The officers allways! have a silver sash. The horse furniture is a black sheepskin with red edge. The cloth furniture shown here was intoduced officially in 1815, but even the regiments fighting at waterloo would barely have them. It seems that some of the 2. silesians had them, probably the depot squadron that had joined it´s regiment by then.
Here you have the uniform of the 2nd Regiment, but with a black leather sabre tach and some other little differences.

Hey Herbert. I've got this plate of the book "1815 The armies at Waterloo". And you know what, you're right they made a mistake.
After reading your remark I went looking in my books, and I couldn't find any information of them.
Otherwise Benno asked for a plate of a Leibhussar, and that is what we gave him. But you're right, it's got to be historical right.
Thank you, it's always nice to learn something.

Greetings Peter
