early M3 Stuarts (Honey) Tanks in british late War Service??

Posted by wikingpaintworks on 20 Nov 2012, 21:52

Hello,

actually i restartet my "Rapid Fire" Army Project: British Forces for the western European Theater. (most of my Vehicles are assigned as Parts of the Guards Division - especially "Irish Guards")

Today i checked my "started but never finished"-Boxes and claimed a good old Hasegawa Stuart light Tank. But it´s the early M3 Version and i don´t know if these were still used in the late War. The only pictures i´ve seen all showed only the later M5 Versions.

So, anyone who has some Pictures and/or link to Pictures where i can see early M3 Stuarts in late War Service?

The Hasegawa kit is a bit overscale and depicts an early mark. A lot of Stuarts were used with the turret removed as a reconaissance vehicle. Usually M3A1 or M3A3 but also some earlier marks and they also did a Stuart version of the Kangaroo (troop carrier)

The Japanese used early mark captured ones late in WWII
