Advice about French Dragoons and Napoleonic Prussian Death

Posted by Lacc on 02 Nov 2018, 14:14

Hi all,
two summers ago,I painted the Waterloo 1815 Prussian Death's Head Hussars without an idea in my mind about to make a diorama. Only, because these figures ware so nice for me.
recently, I thought to make a mele with the Hussars and to choose another Napoleonic horsemen to do more colorful that scene.
I did not think at historic rigor, only in color contrats, and I painted some Italeri french Dragoons....
Now, I have to make some base for these figures.
I would thank yours opinions about the posibility of rigor historic and the scenary more appropiate.
Thanks for yours opinions and ideas.
Alfredo

Sorry, I can't help you. But these are so nicely painted that I want to see them on diorama no matter about historical accuracy.

Hello Alfredo,

please look here - a batte between French Dragoons and Prussian Hussars:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Rocquencourt

But not Death´s Head Hussars...

A "fictional" cavalry clash - the Battle of the Nations 1813 - fresh French Dragoons from Spain
against the Prussians...

Greetings
Thomas

So it is information on how best to base them up and useful stuff to use ,and not historical facts?

It seems to me the composition of your figures in the last picture looks fine to keep.

Lots of members here could advise you on diorama basing so I hope you get good intel here.
Lots of stuff on You Tube too.

Like in Sharps Rifles,
The arid sweeping expanse of Spain is the idea in my thoughtful head of dreams.

:coffee: By the way great looking painted figures. BB

Whatever diorama you put together, as has already been said, these figures look great! Looking forward to seeing whatever it is you end up doing with them!

Nice painting and composition as they square off for individual combat.

Best wishes,
