GB Nassau Infantry Mabos thread

Finally I am in now:

I decided to paint the Nassau Infantry for Waterloo Campaign. And I will start with a firing line formed by the fusiliers.



I take new brushes



and I will paint them with GW Dark Angels Green. A color that does not exist anymore.



As the highlight I will take Snot Green.



I think it is impossible for me to delete the small moldlines. So I decide to start and I think it will be OK for me. When I use a knife or something else, it will look worst. This plastic is shit when you have to remove the flash, but it is nice for conversions. Let´s see what will be the result.

I agree with you on the plastic, huge disappointment

Dark Angels green? Is this not a bit too dark? Then again, GW does not really have a good green for this... It's either Dark Angels Green, Snot Green or Goblin Green, or Catachan Green...

I made slow progress.. But I will post some pictures, when the faces are painted.
Maybe on Sunday. I am also not quite sure about the green

I was just going to ask you about that choice of color MABO I have a bottle and it looks a little to dark a green but I don't know for i am having trouble with picking out and mixing up a green myself, I thought i had it settled but aiyiyiyi, back to the old drawing board or should I say mixing palette

Now these are my men after the Green has been painted. For me it seems OK. I think the moment of truth will come when the yellow has been added - and the leather equipment. What do you think? I can imagine that Maurice will find it a little bit dark

In my opinion, it will come out well. Just wait untill the other colors have been added.

Why don't you do one as a test? Then you will know very quickly

looks nice so far but I too find the green a little too dark, but I am sure they'll turn out great once details are added.

I ahve made some tests dealing with the color of the Uniform-Green and the leather of the belts. The pictures were take in the early morning sun, so they are a little bit red. The belt are painted with Revell 16 Sand and washed with GW Snakebite Leather.

As for me The green turns out well

For me the colors are ok as well. Looking better when in a neutral light.
So I will go on with the whole firing line.

Just to make sure, that I am alive I would like to show a picture of the firing-line with the belts painted...



I am still working And I hope to come up soon with new steps.

I have made a small progress with the group building. I have painted the yellow trims, the knapsacks and started with the rifles. I have so much to do in my office that it is hard finish the first group of figs at the moment, but I think it will be done in the end of the month.







But I think all of you are busy with other think
Let´s keep on painting.

Finally the easter-bunny brings me some time and I have already finished the first Nassau Line Infantry Firing Line.
Comments are welcome, of course.

A little late I have noticed, that the Fusiliers have no sword-knots. But I did not want to remove them after the figs have been nearly finished. So when the marching figs are coming, I will do this first.







The next ones to come are the grenadiers.
