Well - if duelling is all about learning, I learned a lot from this first one of mine.
At first - thanks a lot to Paul who is a real fair player. Shall we keep it as discussed and go on for a revanche, mate?
Well, Sam - the thing that you call a 'base' was a real pain in the lower furniture... ahem.
To be honest - it was the very first time for me to put a miniature onto a base and I needed two attempts to reach this... insufficient result. The wooden material that I used was too delicate and it directly sucked in every moisture from the putty, afterwards deforming in very strange ways. For the second time, I prepared the wood with glue in order to seal it off from the moisture contained by the putty. Nice try, dumbo - glue contains water as well...
In original, the ground material doesn't look that bad. But it has a somewhat uneasy optical effect. This multiplied when I made the photos which where, due to lighting and background, a little bit too bright. After DA converted them for the forum, they seemed to have received some additional brightness. The result looked very unconvincing to me. For small pics like for selling items on ebay, blue- or greenscreening is a big deal. But not for this purpose.
Well - the next pics will get better.
AND I have bought myself new diorama material.
