Thank you all again and sorry for the delay. I will try to explain how I make the bases. I use a sheet of polystyrene ( easy to cut and use). The size depends of the model but the rule is N x 1,5 cm. Then white glue + sand from Baltic Sea + some stones (from my aquarium) + basic colours.
For bases painting I used Vallejo MC Tan yellow (very wet brush) + dry brush of Vallejo MC Dark sand.
For the vehicules: Vallejo MC Dark sand + Vallejo Brown Glaze wash + Vallejo Black Glaze wash. For the blue colours on the Vickers tank : mix of Prussian blue and French grey. That,s all. I like the easy way.

Interesting, but doent polystyrene break easy? It looks so soft.
And about the size, it goes by staps from 1,5 cm? like 6 to 7,5 cm?

No, this is hard material. I don't know the right english name maybe. I know it as the Polystyrene HIPS.
About the size: Yes, yes, yes. 1,5 cm x 1,5 cm is my idea for the single figure, and I wout have compatible bases for vehicles. It make easy to storage in my show case (like puzzle).

They look amazing as usual. Not sure how much the Aussies wore the slouch hat in the desert. Certainly when the shooting started pretty much everyone worn the tin top-hat.

So those bases are polystyrene, aka as styrofoam? where do you get such thin sheets? The only ones I ever found was at the local DIY store and they were 2cm thick

It's not like styrofoam. It's like hard plastic. I can by on the internet (like ebay) or stores with materials for artists. There are different thickness 0,5 mm - 15 mm. I use 0,75 mm for the base.
