A for my special duel comes to a end, the duel this time was between Peter his Philippus Cavalry (who got my vote) and.... me :-D

Peter and I spoke about a duel, and it must be someting else than WW2.
So Peter gave these Hät figs, and the painting could begin.

I want to thank Peter for this duel, you are my winner on this one ;-)

Congrats to both combattants. I liked Peter´s painting style more but Remco´s landscape was better in my eyes.

First of all, congrats with a fine victory Remco

First I had to force you to get this duel on the rails, and now you beaten me :crybaby:

Serious now, you did a very good job on the figures and the landscape. And when I first saw your pictures I knew it was lost for me. I should have taken some more time to do my landscape, but I wanted it finished before I went on holiday. Anyhow it was fun having this duel with you  and I'm in for a replay, some time later.

Thanks Thomas and Maurice for the compliments

PS: That leopardskin was a hell to paint :cussing:

How? Easy! I asked him

@Rich: I know I have to do something on that blue. It almost look like a signature

@Randall: Leopardskin: First white, then yellow, but let a white border. Then dark brown dots in groups of four. Then I covered it with a wash (gryphonne sepia). Eyes and nose highlighted with black. Done. Each one took me more as an hour. :?

Thanks for the compliments everyone

PS: Remco I really like that landscape. One day I will copy it  BTW what did you use as base for it. Can you put up a picture, that we can see it complete?

PS2: The spears are selfmade ;-)

Thanks guys

About the base, I made the sides from MDF, and put PUR foam in it.
Afterwards I made the road in it (the base was to small, so the road has a bit to high angle), just painted it brown, and put sand over the road. Got some small roks on top of it. Than the grass on it, and highlite the grass with brown and sand like Thomas told me once.

About the Leopardskin, I was lucky there was only one in my set :-D
I did use a Osprey book to see how every detail was colored.
But I didn't make it so good like Peter did, and the paint keeps falling off my figures.
(at the end I hated these guys :? )

And yes Paul, he did ask me, but your time will come ;-)

Everyone who wants to duel me, has to be patient, because I am a very slow painter
(and not so good  )
Thats also the answer on Maurice his question

I am on holiday now, so no pictures to upload, but I will make them when I am back home...

@Randall: you think one leopardskin in an hour is fast? No my friend. And just like Remco, I hated them at the end :angry3:

@Remco: did you paint them with a WWII color? Thanks for the explenation about the base. Can't wait to see more pictures ;-)

but they look good, I know the feeling though it took an entire afternoon to paint TWO! Polish winged Hussars (15mm) and I thought half way through it of chucking them at the wall :o :angry3: :-D

Sorry Peter, Remco's base was too good! (and I suspect he has certain connections that I don't dare vote on any other entries  ). A great duel!
