My question is, what rules are you using for playing?

Here, the gamers are using FoG (Field of glory).

I don't like rules with a lot of miniatures and I prefer skirmish rules.

Have you got any rules for playing skirmish for the medieval period?

when i was plaing used :
rapid fire for wwII,
empire 7# ediction for napolen period
age of reason for SYW
dba, dbm and wharammer anciet battle for anciet and medioval period..

the old rule "Cry Havoc" seems the best one...
Never played it but have read many many good comments.

cry havoc was born as a tatical medioval boardgame..

i loved to play Cry Havoc many years ago. Easy game with paper warriors. The metal miniature version was to expensiv in these days cause you need 3 stage characters.
I m going to restart wargaming with the simple "Armageddon" Rules.
Based on the german RPG world "Midgard"

"My kingdom for a horse" seems to be a very good medieval skirmish and 1-to-1 ratio type of game. I haven't played it, but the rules seem pretty good and easily customizable.
Best fact: It's free.

For Wild West (can there be another period??) I Use Legends of the Old west and Warpaint

I use Napoleon's Battles for large battles (units are brigades) and Lasalle for minor affaires (units are batallions)
Both rulesets have a god napoleonic feel!
