This is "super league"- painting.
I never cease to be amazed at how well some people can paint figures.
incredible!
thanks for sharing,
Patrick.

Beautiful as always.

I think bow strings would complete your marvellous work.

Best wishes,

Chris

I made that remark when he showed us the standing archers. They are so beautifull painted that adding a bowstring would make them complete.
But keep them coming these marvellous figures!

Sublime work Lirui. Your painting never fails to impress. I agree the bowstrings would add a masterful touch. I'm trying to find easier methods to make horse reins and considered trying spider web. I'm sure there is something very thin yet flexible and strong enough to fill the job. If I find it I'll let you know. Fantastic work as always!

I would Suggest horse hair or Woodland scenics long grass ranges.

Best wishes,

Chris

Thanks for the suggestion. Many years ago I've actually tried using bristles from a brush before, but glue is difficult to work with bristles, and occasionally it to came unglued after a long time :(
The work would take a lot of extra time, so I chose to give it up

Absolutely splendid brushwork as usual lirui. Am a big admirer of your work, this thread in particular, and never tire of seeing your new additions. The period, the minis themselves, your colours and photography are all breathtaking.

I love these figures with or without bowstrings and understand your consternation/dilemma as to whether the extra work is worthwhile or not. I have deliberated long and hard over this with regard to adding horse reins to my cavalry figures. My conclusion up to now is in agreement with yours.

I do recognise that with correctly fitted horse reins into a rider’s hands a whole new dimension of reality is added to a cavalryman. However, the considerable amount of work required to do the reins has, at least up to now, been too daunting/time consuming for me to tackle. And the same applies to my archers, (which are admittedly few and far between). But I do think that to scale bowstrings would surely look magnificent. Nevertheless, if they are too thick, in my honest opinion, they might transform the figure into a caricature, which personally is not to my liking. And the prospect of adding bowstrings and horse reins to the same horse archer would be enough to drive any man crazy, (or should that be ‘crazier than we are already’)!

Some of the most beautiful work I've seen at this scale.
That must be a terrific army that you build here.
My greatest respects.

Your figures are genuine works of art in my opinion.

You might want to consider using horse hair for your bow strings.

Best wishes,

Chris
