The Popemobile

Posted by Santi Pérez on 03 Jan 2022, 20:16

Coinciding with the beginning of the new year, I already have the first images of the finished popemobile, more than three months after its start and its entire development, which I explained in detail in the Work in Progress section:

http://bennosfiguresforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=25033&hilit=The+popemobile

The first picture, as usual, for size comparison with the usual 1 euro coin:

Image

In the second picture, the vehicle is escorted by the bodyguards made for this purpose and already presented in a previous post:

http://bennosfiguresforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=25200

Image

And I haven't been able to avoid the temptation to add another picture with the model Sara Croft posing with the popemobile, although it may not be the most appropriate escort for the Pope.

I trust you enjoy this appetizer. More pictures will come the next few days. ;-)

Thank you for watching. :-D

Santi.

The figure standing next to the car in the last picture is definitely not the Pope, but I love the whole project!

Very good outcome of this project, Santi. I really like the car. I am looking forward to the following pictures. And of course I want to see a pope sitting in the cair lookong at Lara Crofts booty.

Completely bonkers but somehow it seems to work.

Be careful with Sarah and her AR as the Pope might pass out from shock!

Best wishes,

Chris

Good work Santi. :yeah: :yeah: :yeah: :yeah: :yeah:
Agree with you, I dont think that the "Pope Pancho" would like Sara Croft like a bodyguard.
But if you dress her as a nun and leave her the M14, maybe he'll accept her.
An armed nun would remind me of the director of the religious school where my teenage girlfriend went. I can give you ideas if you want. :-D

Excellent job on the Popemobile Santi, it looks fabulous!

And the bodyguards are just perfect, they really do have that 'I can only just squeeze into this suit' look. 8)

You are right. The girl next to the vehicle isn't either the Pope nor Mrs. Pope. I'm sure I will not make a Pope figure to fit specifically the popemobile, but I'll put both together for some pictures once I could finish my Pope for the Swiss Guard and Cardinals diorama:

Perhaps the right answer is that from Peter:

Peter wrote:...That lady is there to protect the bodyguards!

And this despite Graeme's opinion:

Graeme wrote:...And the bodyguards are just perfect, they really do have that 'I can only just squeeze into this suit' look. 8)

Carlos, you already gave me some great ideas in the past. Thanks to them I began converting and painting cars, including this popemobile.

And now some more pictures of the vehicle from different angles:

Impressive result... The texture of the car looks like sugar, maybe because it looks very matt on the picture. Maybe you might add a layer of gloss varnish ?

I think the texture of the car fits perfectly with Santi's figure painting style.

Re. Sara Croft, surely The Pope would not be troubled by such temptations?

Hello my friend,
It's unbelievable how accurate your painting is again.
You did a great job portraying the car.

Looking great! Didn't know the pope was married. Well, then maybe he is better off without young nice ladies in his car! Mrs Pope probably don't like that! And now you just have to put Peter in! He is not that big (1.76) so I think he should fit nicely!

To me the car looks like a piece of cream cake, too. High precision pastry
Very fitting for the pope.

I'm amazed by the incredible precission and cleanliness of the car and the miniatures! I've seen the Pope's cohort and the Swiss guard forum threads as well, and wow... Congratulations, Santi! As some fellow members have said, your conversions and your painting style makes your minis very unique and charismatic :-)

By the way, I don't know if you've watched the film, but since it is a topic that interests you, I recommend you the movie "The Two Popes".
