Orctober 2021: Goblin War Chariot

Posted by PhilC on 14 Oct 2021, 18:06

Good evening everyone! Here comes at last my entry for Orctober 2021:

Image

It took me more time than expected, but I must admit that a bit of creation in this hobby is a welcome step further than just painting minis.
A little close-up:

Image

A Goblin chieftain is shouting orders at his ugly warriors. As a good chieftain, he doesn't walk in the mud but stands firm on a war chariot pulled by two Wargs (must not be very comfortable though).
The driver is equipped with a whip - is that for the Wargs or the troopers ?

Image

Hope you like it (the chariot, not the whip)

Oh, I forgot the usual link for more pictures and explanations: https://philotepsfigures.blogspot.com/2021/10/my-contribution-to-orctober-2021-goblin.html

That chariot is fantastic! He don't need the whip for the troopers! That's where he can use the blades on the chariot!

Excellent use of the vintage Briton Airfix war chariot...
You have turn it into the most impressive war machine.
Good job!

Fabulous!

Great idea for the goblin chariot and excellent execution. The nasty little goblins look terrific and the painting of that skeleton is just exquisite.

The chariot and driver conversion is a little bit similar to a Celtic one I did so, obviously, I think it's brilliant.

Thank you again for your kind comments, that's fuel for future and crazier projects 8)

Since I challenged the community to identify the various kits I used for this conversion, here you are the solution:

Image

First part, the venerable Airfix Briton chariot, as you all guessed:
Image

Then the wheels from the almost as venerable Atlantic Egyptian chariot:

Two Wargs from one of the Dark Alliance sets to replace the horses:

Some 28mm blades from an old GW kit:

And, last but not least, a resin skeleton by Nikolai as a banner:

Nothing more on the blog, but in case you're curious: https://philotepsfigures.blogspot.com/2021/10/goblin-war-chariot-solution.html

Interesting to see. I could not identify all the different parts. So also good to see the resolution.
