If only Strelets had better quality production...as the masters are usually good but the plastic output hit and miss...

I think production quality has improved lately , if we go back a few years to the ACW sets they were poor compared to the masters, the WSS sets on the other hand are wonderful as are most others I have bought since the ACW range. There are some limitations I suspect with process that don`t help, ie the mould not being steel ,I assume this lessens the amount of pressure on the liquid plastic and accounts for the chunky sprues etc .

I say, let us be happy Strelets is still producing figures. If I look at PSR the figure production isn't high!

It would only be fair to have a WW1 German field kitchen too!

WSS French Cavalry?
Probably not, unless it's supposed to be a high ranking officer. The French at this time had but a single regiment equipped with a cuirass, viz. the cuirassiers du Roi, which didn't see action during the WSS, at least to the best of my knowledge. But given the rather generic look of cavalry for the period, whether they label it as French cavalry or not doesn't matter that much, it can be used for a number of other nations (Danes, Dutch, German States or even Imperial Austrian), so a very useful figure. I just hope they make them with front plate only as that was the most common type.

AS Strelets continue to expand their excellent WoSS range, an increasing number of figures - especially amongst the cavalry sets - may be considered as 'generic' for the early 18th century period; or indeed for a little later in the 1700s. Given that officers of the time had some leeway in 'uniform', the officer shown here in dashing pose, with pistol and standard, may be used for a variety of different units/armies. The pose itself is one that can only be used here and there, but as part of a diorama is nonetheless an eye-catching pose.

Perhaps the most frustrating thing at present is that Strelets keep showing us these wonderful new figures, but we as eager buyers may have to wait quite a number of months, maybe half a year, before being able to buy them!

Minuteman,

I absolutely agree. I'm waiting and waiting to see the French Musketeers of the Guard and the Garde du Corps sets released which were shown to us back in September 2020 and are still not released. Quite frustrating! No idea what may have delayed the production.

Covid has contributed to a plastics shortage. That could be one reason for the delay.

The remarkable output of new master figures from Strelets continues. This is wonderful for the hobby, although I do wonder whether this 'eye candy' is out-stripping the ability of Strelets to bring new sets to the market. I believe that there are now circa nine (9) !! sets of War of Spanish Cavalry waiting in the wings for production/shipping/retail. That is a lot of cavalry sets by any standards. And that does not include probably two new WoSS infantry sets, and then quite a lot of other sets for other eras. Prodigious is one way to describe this.

The new WW2 figures are looking very good, although see the Strelets Forum this week for some comments on the accuracy of the new 8th Army Infantry sculpts here.

Another great looking preview for a further set of WSS Austrian / Bavarian Cuirassiers (actually a second set, all figures for the aforementioned set 257 are already revealed)?

Looks like Strelets is going to use a 3D printer as well, at least for the canon?!
