Strelets releases December 2020

Posted by Erich von Manstein on 19 Nov 2020, 21:17

This year's 2nd & final release batch appears to be imminent now. It seems to include the following 19 (!!!) sets:

161 - Nap. Prussian 7th Uhlans
216 - Nap. Russian Infantry shoulder arms
238 - WSS British Cavalry
239 - WSS Chevau-Legers and Gendarmes de la Garde
240 - WSS Garde du Corps
241 - WSS French Royal Horse Grenadiers
242 - WSS French Musketeers of the Guard
248 - Medieval City Levy
271 - Nap. Bavarian Infantry order arms
272 - Nap. Bavarian Infantry on the march
280 - WWII German Afrika Korps Mortar Squad
281 - WWII Japanese Type 11 infantry support Gun with Crew
291 - French Foreign Legion with 37mm M1916 infantry support gun

M143 - WWII Long Range Desert Group at rest
M144 - WWII Long Range Desert Group
M145 - WWII SAS Desert Ambush
M146 - French Foreign Legion in camp
M147 - French Foreign Legion in attack
M148 - WWI Arabs in Retreat

Such separate listings can be helpful in keeping a certain degree of clarity for those interested.
In the "notorious" and often exuberant Strelets News threads such essential & often requested information is quickly lost.
It therefore seems reasonable to list them separately, so that one can discuss these upcoming figures in a clear & unobstructed way.

And again, why do we need new topic about Strelets news? And please, do not send me pm's about this.

Personally I can actually live with this separate topic, because I also wanted to make such a list for the overview. Often teasers come out later in a different delivery of sets and that might be confusing.
So it’s helpful and that’s where this news section is about: just to help each other.
Next days some new sprues will be probably shown and those can be placed in the other topic. Voilà.

(I don’t use the mailbox function here, but you weren’t talking to me of course)

I wish all a goodnight and a good start of the new week!

Hi Dali,
not sure if you have actually read the statement I added especially for you in my first entry above?

If that explanation does not make sense to you, do I have to assume that there is a more profound issue?

If this topic is only to announce the Strelets release for the month December, and we can delete this topic, let's say at the end of January, I have no problem with it.
What we don't want to see here is the pictures of figures or future sets. Keep those in that other topic.
We also like it that you and Marc keep us updated on new sets and so on, but it is our job to keep the forum clean. To many topics on the same topic can make it a mess. If it was me I made one topic for Strelets, one for Zvezda and so on, and not every year a new one. When you reply in a topic you can change the title of that reply.Like I did now (see list latest posts). Maybe something to think about for next year.
Greetings Peter

I think Peter said everything I meant. Guys, we appreciate your forum activity but we (few of us, mods and admins) try to keep forum clean. Happy painting to all!

There is nothing profound. As Peter said, we just try to make forum neat and clean.
Why we don't have new topic for each manufacturer's news each month? Why to wait so long, let's make it each week... or day... or... tell me when to stop, please

In addition to the brand-new figures listed above, there will also be some re-releases this time again.
140 - Nap. Highlanders on the march
141 - Nap. British Infantry on the march
142 - Nap. Polish Infantry on the march

Furthermore, PSR now refers to another upcoming set which may also be a re-release of already known figures.
250 - Vikings
Possibly more figures from the nice "Stamford Bridge" set (911)?

238 - WSS British Cavalry
239 - WSS Chevau-Legers and Gendarmes de la Garde

248 - Medieval City Levy Single release of previously available "big box" figures.
250 - Vikings Single release of previously available "big box" figures?
271 - Nap. Bavarian Infantry order arms
272 - Nap. Bavarian Infantry on the march
280 - WWII German Afrika Korps Mortar Squad
281 - WWII Japanese Type 11 infantry support Gun with Crew
291 - French Foreign Legion with 37mm M1916 infantry support gun

M143 - WWII Long Range Desert Group at rest
M144 - WWII Long Range Desert Group

Re-releases:
140 - Nap. Highlanders on the march
141 - Nap. British Infantry on the march

The word from Strelets on 7th Dec was: "The idea is to have them in shops before Christmas early enough so that customers could order and receive them also by Christmas."

Not an exact date but it's got to be pretty soon.

Some online shops are listing the latest Strelets sets as available already.
Although no one can seriously expect to receive these figures in time for Christmas, I have placed a fairly extensive order nevertheless... :xd: :merrychristmas:
