Great project
Very unusual. I like the pink lips, and no, I was spared (:-)

Keep going

i guess Gt Britain will soon be struck off that Coin? Like being well sunk at sea,
with the Irish Republic bobbing along at its anchorage ... declaring 'Where is the rest of Me?'

Concerning your hobby style work. Better to do a little now and then,
rather than nothing at all?

i like your figures very much. Well done Santi. BB

Thanks for your encouragement, Michael. I usually paint male lips in pink and female lips in red (except those of the nuns), and it isn't a sexual discrimination at all, since I am a convinced defender of gender equality. :-)

BB, I totally agree with your first two opinions (we will miss Britain in Europe and better little than nothing) and I thank you very much for the third one about my figures. ;-)

Best regards.

You made me laugh with this "nuns exception"... not sure if your intention was to be funny but it did. :xd: :xd: :xd:

Although I generally have a very good sense of humor, this time my reference to the nuns' lips was serious, Kekso ... I think the Vatican wouldn't look with good eyes that they painted their lips with a color as striking as red.

Best regards. ;-)

I don't think the Vatican looks at women in an appropriate way at all.

MABO, I hope that the new Francisco era in the Vatican means an update in all aspects of religious life to the modern times we live, including the consideration of women.

Best regards. :-)

I think after some years one can see, that all the old men in the background will not tolerate this. The Catholic Church is a dubious institution and should urgently be more controlled and worldwide state authorities should intervene in the apparatus to bring all the criminal elements to justice, which is not happening at all.

But this is not the topic here and of course it has nothing to do with the quality of your converted figures and with this interesting and impressive wip. ;-)

Ummm, MABO, this has reminded me that I must finish my Swiss Guard cartoon figure as soon as possible in order to continue the 1/72 diorama. Thank you for your reminder. ;-)

I have finally finished another figure for my Swiss Guard diorama. He is a new Cardinal, this time from an african country. Here are some pictures.

First of all, as always, one picture for size comparison:

And now four diferent views, each one with the sequence of the converted, primed and painted figure:

Thank you for watching. Best regards. :-)

Wow the whites and oranges are so smooth and rich, was that multiple thin coats? It really stands out because of how strong the colours are!

I am happy that your dio will continue .... :-D
Your painting technique is very special.
Clean and clear with wonderfully smooth transitions.
The shadows look so realistic that you cannot say whether they are natural
or whether they were painted on.
I'm really looking forward to the next characters.

Nice work, neat painting
My only advice is to use 2€ coin and figure would look even smaller :D :D :D

I'm very excited about the finished scene or the diorama.
Your painting style is extremely clean and accurate.
Lets see how it goes on.
