Everything is missing. No replenishment. No spare parts. What now?

To build a new tank from many parts of defective vehicles is almost impossible. But it's worth a try. Nobody wants to give up.

A crane was borrowed from the nearby airfield. Or should we rather say stolen. But this is too weak to lift the tank turret. But the gun barrel and the motor could be exchanged with his help.

There is still a lot to do. But step by step the Patchwork Tiger is created. Not really a beauty, but powerful ... and dangerous to the enemy.

Little tank history:

55 tons, up to 700 horsepower, 100 mm frontal armor, 80 mm side armor, 8.8 cm KwK 36 L/56 and much more. A legend in steel! The most powerful tank of the second world war. The Tiger!

In 1942 serial production began at Henschel in Kassel. By the end of production in August 1944, Henschel built 1355 tigers.

The first use of the tiger took place on 29 August 1942 at Leningrad. A disaster. 3 of the 4 used tigers either remained stuck in the ground or failed due to technical problems.

After this experience special tactics were developed for the use of heavy tanks. Known technical imperfections on the tank have been resolved. After that, the tiger became a very dreaded weapon ... and a legend!

At the service point.
Commander: "New gun, new turret check the motor oil the lights and clean the window please ".

A huge advantage of this tank is, there is no need of an diesel particulate filter.
The motivation of all the mechanics is improvable !
If the pigeons leave the gun tube I hope there are suddenly no white KILL RINGS.
Once more a nice model with information all around.

The pigeons are gone ... and left two white (Kill) rings. Ugh ... !!!! These were the last pigeons on one of my dioramas ... guaranteed!
The cat was supposed to catch the two rats that climbed onto the diorama (I'm curious if anyone found them) ... but the cat prefers to cuddle. I guess I have to catch the rats myself .. ...

Great idea for the scene and very nicely done. fabulous dio with lots of detail, I really like this one.

The cat is scent marking the soldiers back, that is so cool.

I didn't spot the rats until you told me they were there, I found them eventually.

The two rats sit on the concrete floor in front of the ration boxes, which are near the two chairs. I think you can see them in picture 8. If you follow the link, you will see the image 8 in original size ... then you see the rats without glasses

Stephane42, where the guys stole the steel plates, I do not know. They had collected everything that was not nailed down. I have been looking for my suspenders, toothbrush and third teeth since then.
