Airfix Fort Sahara.

Posted by Jaques on 26 Sep 2019, 23:22

Hi , friends.

Updating this endless word. :-D
In my obsession with having better mules, I gave up on my previous conversions.
In current conversions, I used the donkey giant head Hat.
Using the mold reduction technique, I made smaller copies.
Image

Then it was just choosing the compatible horses. ( Hat British Zulu War, Revell French Hussars and Airfix).
Image

For the fort, I will need legionaries in the formation of parades.
I am building this figure to copy later. It will be made headless  so it can be harnessed like other troops using different heads as well. Hope you like.

Hi , friends.

Thanks for the comments.

Updating.
I finished building the legionnaire and made copies in white metal.
I'm looking to make some legionnaires for the fort without the backpacks, because with the backpacks they don't seem to want to defend it and they already have full gear ready to abandon it. :xd:

Hi , friends.

Many thanks for the comments.

I have seen the wonderful recent work of the forum friends about the legionaries, it encourages me to keep doing mine.

The ammo is gone and only one legionary remains. :-)

I think it is a very bad idea to chop off the head of your fellow legionaries! But, as usual, very nice work!

Hi , friends.

Thanks so much for all the comments and likes. I'm glad to be enjoying this long work.

Updating.

Legionnaires Strelets.

I added buttons to the coats because, in my opinion, it seems that the sculptor has made buttons not obvious.

Long bayonets.

The officer got up to shoot.

Airfix / Hat Legionnaires.

Despite later releases, I have a special preference for these old figures.
Conversions were made by adding the Lebel rifle, plus an ammo bag, and the two-nozzle water bottle.

In this other figure, in addition to adding another ammo bag and the correct water bottle, he replaces the parade rifle with marching.

Combat and other converted poses.

Every step is fantastic, but the pipe smoking figure is my favorite! ;-)

Using Emhar's French infantry figures to make legionaries in defense of the fort without using marching gear.
I took the epaulettes off shoulders.
Without removing, can be legionaries in the campaign of Mexico.

Yes, Paul. But made with larger size and thickness, because the original figure is too small.

Hi , friends.

Legionnaires 1920 - 1930.

In addition to the classic legionnaires, I'm doing with post WWI uniforms. It's the style of Van Damme's movie.
Most of the figures are Strelets conversions. I hope you like the idea.

Hi , friends.

After a long period of marching, the flag starts to rise and the painted legionaries are going to occupy the fort.

Image

First the legionnaires mounted on camels in the cinema version and then in the more historical version.
