Good news that Streletz is going into this era.
II was Always hoping that. It is a time very important for the creation of modern France.
Colourful uniforms, lots of possibilities because uniformisation was not very homogeneous.
Streletz sculpting shown here does it truly honour.

Cheers

Hmm, maybe one can force them into the great Northen war or vice versa. They look pretty good! Fun to compare the old Strelets with the new.

From PSR
Wars of Louis XIV
Strelets have revealed the first sculpts for a new set and a new range. The new set depicts British infantry for the period 1701 to 1714, so the campaigns of Louis XIV and Marlborough. No precise details yet - just some excellent sculpts on their forum, but usually Strelets cover a period in good depth, so we expect many more sets to expand this new range.

AT LAST - WSS figures in 1/72. My long long dream. There are figures in other scales, but never liked them. If it is true, i'm in for some serious collecting!

I applaud Strelets is stepping into this period. Colorful uniforms, the wigs, a neglected period in 1/72 and an important period too.
Hope this will attract people to get into the hobby again, who are now perhaps fed up with the flood of napoleonics marching and standing.
Anyway: http://www.strelets-r.com/Pages/Set.aspx?SetID=338&M=F
French greatcoat marching set 2. From which I, a Napoleonic addict, only will buy one. I understand the reason why they carry the muskets at the right instead of left (‘they are not marching on the battlefield’). I will find them something to do, stumbling on the border of my Waterloo dio to reform a unit i.e. But don’t need more then fourty figures being kind of lost.
They look good though!

It´s the wigs that do it for me..you just can´t beat a decent powdered wig, especially in the winter months.

Dammit - another entire range for me to spend lots of money on! ;-)

They look fabulous. Very interested in this, there is too little at 1.72 scale for this era.

A couple of personal thoughts on these new "Lace Wars" figures;

1) Beautifully sculpted, well-rounded, sharply-detailed masters . Let's hope the final product come close to reflecting that.
2) Still hate the way the thick, moulded flags drape around the head and torso in recent sets making it incredibly difficult to remove and replace with a paper printed flag.
3) Nice to see eras not not well covered before get a look in, even if this is not one that holds any personal interest.

Same. I think it´s obvious These days that a lot of the production (no matter which manufacturer) goes towards wargaming so the standard bearers, IMHO, would be better with just a flagpole.
I don´t know about anyone else but I haven´t the skill or patience to paint even one pre folded flag on both sides with even a slightly complicated design..way easier to use a printed flag.

Looking at the standard bearers above I think I can see a way of removing the Flags without too much damage or it being noticable afterwards.

I think you are both right. Even a well skilled painter must hate these pre folded flags. It’s okay to give them a flag, but so that anyone who wants can cut it off.
Btw: I think dioramists hate them too. At least I do!

I swore not to step into this period, but I’m a nice guy so place this anyway. ;-)
But it’s from Hannants site and now placed as a topic on Strelets forum (?).
