Romans Alex Miniatures

Posted by Konrad on 11 Sep 2018, 18:52

My first paintjob after my accident.
Romans from Alex Miniatures.
The quality is so like we expect from this gifted man.
Great in every way.
Anatomy, armor and proportions are perfect.
Thanks to Jan"MABO"Marschner who got me these figs.
But my left hand still causes me problems with longer work.

Will be continued...later...

Shields are selfmade paper stickers.

But how they managed to glue the metal tips so cleanly on the pilum is a mystery to me.
I failed.
My metal tip is a thick hair from a brush.

Cool painting with only one hand. Hope you are getting better... I am looking forward to see the rest of the legion. Btw. The first painted examples of this set I have seen so for.

Great to see your work again! And great to see Alex' romans painted by you! And I agree with Peter, Patience. Now, who ever use to say one of the ways is patience? Bah, never mind. ;-)

I'm happy to see you're painting again. And that accident didn't have impact on your painting skills.

Good to see again some of your great brushwork! I also have those sets (thanks to Jan also) and they are really amazing. Though, they'll keep on playing sleeping beauty for a while.

Great to see you are painting again.
That is excellent paintwork on some very good looking figures. and the shield decals are very well done as well.

Regarding the pilum tips, could the pilum be drilled with a pin vice and the metal tip slotted in?

Thanks for the tip.
I have not tried all the possibilities yet.
I have to wait until my hand is all right again.
Unfortunately, I still get cramps during the very precise work.

Very nice, Konrad. I was already impatient. It was really quiet on the westside of Cologne...

Magnificent looking evening parade.

Excellent painting, another really good background picture and the photography looks just right to me; it looks exactly like low angle sunlight glinting off the armour.

The Centurion at the end of the line is an awesome figure.

Wonderful Display!

They used to have a leather sleeve over their shields to protect the artistic flow upon them.
:coffee: So one can cheat in a most positive and correct way, if lazy like little o`ll me. BB

Hello Konrad,
a beautiful painting of these great characters from Alex.
The pictures remind me of the book series "Rom" by simon scarrow,
when Marco and Cato are in Britannia.
Well done!!

I'm also a faithful follower of the Cato and Macro's saga, Egbert. ;-)

Great work on these fantastic figures, Konrad.

My very best regards.
