Old van

Posted by Kekso on 08 Sep 2019, 10:31

Hi guys. It's been very long time since I've posted my work here

I always wanted to make old VW T1. So far I only found Revell's models that were pretty expensive. At least too expensive to practice weathering on it. Then I found 3€ worth toy and decided to try something with it. Everything else is scratchbuilt and scale is 1/64 I guess. I hope you like it and that you won't need to wait so long for my next finished project :-D

An unusual subject matter but a stunning visual feast.

Properly backdropped this would appear real.

The modellers nivarna. Congratulations.

When I was young, some folks and me traveled in a VW bus.
Nice memories...
You did a stunning job with this "old" car. ;-)
And your scratchbuild is ...boah....

Brilliant - a scene that is worth the wait. The rusty VW is terrific but the details in the surrounding scene are the icing on the cake. :yeah:

Flower power quaint and old fashioned like my memories of those Hippy-type things.
i Love it all. Is that a metaphor of the swinging 60`s ? BB

The weathering on the Combi van is terrific especially the flaking rust on the roof. The rust appearing through the paint on the swing frame looks good too. If everything but the van is scratch built that's really impressive, it all looks perfect.

I love the windblown leaves collected on the fence rails, what a great detail.

I agree with all the mates, Kekso. Despite the total absence of any human figures, it's a fantastic work.

Best regards.

As always with your projects, the atmosphere is just perfectly captured. Looks like photos from the real world.

And it is fascinating to see that one needs no dramatic action, no dramatic story behind a scene; a perfect composition and lots of details are fully sufficient to make it very interesting.
