And another duel has been ended.
This time the winner is Jan (Mabo) who was a bit to strong for Mr X.
But Mr. X did paint the wrong month so he had to do this one a bit faster...
Better luck next month Mr. X and congratulations Jan!
Thanks to all the voters, for making this duel more fun!

Congratulations Jan.
Two very good looking Carabiniers well done to both contestants. It seemed to me to be a duel of warm v cool tones. I voted for the warmer tones of Jan's pics.

Well done to both painters for excellent entries. It seems that Mr. X wanted his photos to mostly show the horse, whereas Jan showed us a bit more of his rider. I voted for the first entry, and I thought to myself that it must have been Mr. Andrea. I was wrong again, but Jan won!

SInce a long time I would like to paint the Carabiniers once again. I had painted them in the beginning of my hobbycareer. So this duel was a good option. Thanks to Mr.X. and congrats to his figure. I think the Caras are not easy to paint and the figures have some incorrect points, unfortunately. Most of all the belt which is missing on the front of the figures.

Thanks to all who voted for my "Knight of France"

How difficult would it be to sculpt a belt out of greenstuff and stick it on to the front of the breastplate? Asking for a friend...

I think it depends on your craftmansship. Here in this forum are a lot of members, who could make things quiet more challenging than that, but for me - without any experience - it is difficult to creat a result, that might please me myself. :eh: ;-)

For us artistically challenged types, maybe just a folded over piece of wine bottle foil could serve...

I voted for the winner. Far better horse, higher level of details, finer brush work. Mr. X really had a hard time this round. I am pretty surprised by the choice of the figure, though: I did not expect Jan going for the enemy. Vive la France, vive l'Empereur!

I am still honoured that, Aaron thought this figure, might be painted by you, Mr.Andrea.
