Pushing down a tent stake for the latrine tent. Some of them walk bended. The urge to relieve themselves is clearly imminent.

British infantry standing shoulder arms.
With: wee oh wee, wee oh wee, his name in Dan, he’s the Banjo man!
(only funny if you’re Dutch and know BZN)

Austrian Grens - " Why's he stamping on a stick ?"

Don't know what the historical drill move was, but (ignoring the stick!) he looks as tho he's doing a (modern) "HALT-check-one-TWO!"

Just got the Boer War British infantry-they look as good as the masters did. I think the best set Strelets have produced.

Please is there someone who can give me a serious proof that the German regiments wore trousers in this period?
Many thanks in advance.

Sorry, talked about long trousers (Überhosen) and missing gaiters for German regiments.
As far as I know long trousers were only worn after the Napoleonic period, following the common fashion.

Ok, now I know what you mean. I am also not sure about the longer trousers. I have only seen Austrian Grenadiers with gaiters. But I am no real expert.

What bothers me about these new Boer infantry is that they look actually pretty good, but I fear the end product will not be..

looks good but I like the old set of boers ! I've painted some for Old West time and they are perfect for that ! some are in my Western town : Tombstown !
In the new set, it seems that they are all in fight .... not my cup of tea !

I'm not a big fan of Strelets sets, but their British infantry came out really nicely, nearly as good as the excellent masters. So there is hope these will come out just as well!

My concern about this set is that I feel they've got this set and the British set's poses the wrong way round. There should be more standing/advancing in the British, with less kneeling/firing, and more kneeling/firing and less standing/advancing in the Boers set. Just my opinion anyway...

The way they are lined up on the pics over at PSR
The one third from Right appears to be Looking at the guy to his Right as if he´s thinking "drunk again?!"
The pair to the left of the drunk also seem to be Looking on in puzzlement.
The one on the far left Looking at the next one along who also Looks like he´s suffering from the night before.

The Drummer has probably got a Splitting headache due to one too many last night, hence he´s Holding the drumsticks as he is…and slowly seeking the comfort of the Ground to his Right
The Standard bearer is definately using the flag as a counterweight to stay upright.

Discipline seems to have broken down in this Regiment!!!

I hate to be the negative voice all the time but nothing coming out right now is very good, HaT and Strelets make poor figures, what happened to all good companies? Caesar making fantasy figs?? Waterloo 1815 when did they release a set recently? Zvezda making the small box sets no one cares about.. It's looking dark..
