Posted by CPN on 04 Jul 2019, 10:45

Hi everyone,
My current new unit , a full 8 gun Prussian battery made with conversions I have seen on a lot of your respective posts and forums.

This is where we are so far.

1.Corps project (http://bennosfiguresforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=22316)
I have used Art Minis, but your plastic conversions are really insiring. I will have an eye on this topic in particular.

Great stuff and nice to see the old Hat 1805 artillery guys being chopped up.

The Russian Guard and normal gunners make great Prussians.

Do not forget that an eight ‘gun’ battery had two howitzers in it.

Excellent mutilations!

Best wishes,

Chris

Hi dear Mabo,
The figs are primed (photo to come) but I have for you , what is you favourite blue for the Prussian troops? I hesitate between dark prussian blue and regular prussian blue.
Could you give some advice? For this project I am going to follow this painting technique I like a lot.

Sorry for a late answer, I was on a business-trip. I use a dark blue. Once from GW now dark prussian blue from Vallejo. The lighter blue I use for highlights. But I could not give advices. I can tell you only what I do  Great progress btw.

Great stuff CPN. This to me is one of the great joys of “soft plastic figures,” the ease of conversions.

Your cvonversions look great and give some very nice variety to late war Prussian artillery. Some ideas really worth considering.

I think the six pounder and howitzer barrells in the HaT late war set are fine but they look like they are swimming in the twelve pounder carriage provided. They look great in the smaller carriages you have shown here, are those carriages from the 1806 set?

The Austrian cavalry artillery howitzer barrel works well for the 10 pdr.

Hi Graeme,
4 of the guns are the 1806 and are considered my 12 pdr.
The other 4 are the late war from Hat but I used the extra wheels I had from the rocket artillery wagons from HAT as they are slightly bigger hence giving more volume.
Cheers.

Super painting and they really look lovely indeed.

I personally like my troops to be filthy but these are excellently painted.

Best wishes,

Chris

Dear Chris,
I know but they were just drafted into my Prussian army. Soon they should see the smoke of the battlefield.

Kind regards
