To the new Mr. X:

Congrats on a fine entry. Since ancient Greek archers did not wear full armor and greaves, I chose to depict a hero from the legendary past with my entry. I suppose you were aiming for something similar by naming your figure as a participant in the Games, where pomp and circumstance were likely the order of the day, and such a flamboyant costume perhaps not entirely out of place.

I liked your use of color, and the face and armor of your entry look better to me. Also the bowstring on your archer is easier to see, and connected to the bow in a likelier spot. So a good duel once again.

Congratulations to the Mr.X veteran (from a Mr.X veteran ;-) ) The painting and at least the photo makes me vote for you. Mr.X 2019, you did a good job as well, but maybe you should improve the photos, to present you work in a more adequate way. :yeah:

When I look at the figures I said to myself: is Bluefalchion running as Mr. X again? At least the painting style of the first figure looks like his style. Now I understand. Nice duel. I didn't like much the figure, but both contenders made a good job with it. Bluefalchion a better one; a deserved victory. A big good luck to the new Mr. X. It'll be fun

Well done to both winner and loser.  A double Bravo!

:sst: in a much broader use of that word,no one really is a loser on this Forum. however upon their own pathway it is full of those wishing to do better. Mentioned the little shinny Button.

I thought I recognised those paving stones.

Two great entries. The highlight brush strokes on Bluefalchions figure seemed to go around the armour scales, which gave them real depth. I liked that, and the general style, and the cool blue tones. And that got my vote.

Mr x's entry was also very good. Nice shading on the armour and the skin tones were great. In hindsight I think the bronze armour is probably more authentic for the period too.

Bluefalchion has an excellent photograph which makes a difference. But I've noticed that digital cameras can sometimes seem to make red and yellow colours glow; I suspect that if I saw Mr x's figure in real life it would be a much closer contest for me.

Great first duel I look forward to the rest of the year.

I like this because they both added a bowstring! But Aaron did a fantastic job painting all those nice little details! That's why he got my vote!

And Mr X, up to the next duel. You can do it! Hat off for a brave man, who is taking over the madness I started a couple of years ago. :-D
