Good job by both duelers, it was very close this time. A pity there were not more voters.

I am intrigued by Michael Robert's entry. It seems that Yldirim means "lightning" or "thunderbolt." Maybe he will be kind enough to tell us the story of what is going on there. I see an arm is coming up out of the ground, holding a bloody axe! The rider does not appear to notice, but the horse spotted it and is not happy about it.

Very good duel as usual! I am also wondering about that arm.

Noticed the arm as well and it instantly reminded me of the hilarious "Army of Darkness" movie. :xd:

Congratulations to the winner and thanks to both competitors! Was a close contest this time, both figures are painted really finely. :yeah:

Any duel when I'm not participant is a great duel. This one is no exception.
Really tough choice.

Hello,

my first time in a duel, and I found it really exciting. Honestly, I would have had a real hard time chosing a winner. Mr X clearly wins in terms of photography.
I feel honoured to have competed in a close run. Many thanks to all voters

Comments to questions raised.
Yildirim = the Blitz or the Lightning. It is a reference to Sultan Bajazed 1st, son of Sultan Murad killed at the battle of Kosovo. This description fitted well the figure.
The axe wielding arm from the ground is what I call artistic freedom. It fitted well to the horse, creates some equilibrium to the figure on its base and is also a reminder of the bloody battle of Kosovo itself. It has no historic meaning.

Cheers
Michael

congrats for the choice of the figure: it is very nice! Both entries were well painted: really hard to take a decision on who was worth my vote. I ended up voting for Mr. X just because I liked more the colors used for the horse caparison
