Has anyone heard any news about these figures?

No unfortunately. Eagerly waiting myself as well, along with the Warszaw pact troops. The NATO and WarPac troops will be nice together with the upcoming Dark Alliance Stalkers, Rednecks and Survivors :)

They are very likely to be ESCI reissues.

I contacted Italeri about these sets back in May and they said they will be released in the second part of the year starting from September. So any time from now to the end of December.

I'm eagerly awaiting the re-release of the two old Esci sets too.
The NATO & Warsaw Pact figures are very useful for a fair part of (later) Cold War. Their sculting & accuracy is still unrivalled.

Italeri communicated their current release batch yesterday and no sign of the 3 announced Esci re-releases again. :eh:

Instead, we can expect another re-release. Their own, quite nice Gladiators set (6062) will be available soon again.

So they still have the 3 announced Esci re-releases on their agenda.
6189 - WWII French Infantry (Esci 205)
6190 - Warsaw Pact Troops (Esci 242)
6191 - NATO Troops (Esci 241)

Could be that we'll have to wait until 2019 for them... .
