28mm Diorama / Panzerschreck, Eastern Front 1945

Hello,

I´ve done a new diorama for the Warlord Games Summer Painting Comp. A soviet IS-2 tank breaks through German lines in March 1945, some of the soldiers try to fight the beast, others retreat.

I´ve used only Warlord Games products (this is one of the stakes for the competition.....very clever) with some conversions and additional stuff.

I did painting work first time in a new way, using a color Modifikation set by AK interactive….very good result for monochrome vehicles….but this works only with airbrush.

For the landscape I used Styrodur, melted in shape with a hot wire cutter and a blow torch. Afterwards I covered the groundwork with Wood filler and sand and primed everything in black color.

Then I drybrushed the landscape from dark Brown to sand color and added pigments.

This is the second consecutive 28mm dio you have shown us. Have you left 1/72 for good?

Thanks for the comments, guys. @Bluefalchion.....to be honest, for several years now I am more keen on 28mm scale than in 1/72. The mutlipose sets (especially from Perry) are a real benefit for me. The figs are easily convertable and the multipose character allows me to fit my figures to the actual project.

The figs are easily convertable and the multipose character allows me to fit my figures to the actual project.

I don't worry about what scale you use, as long as you continue to show us the finished products.

Yes, I am aware of that. I recognized the Polish eagle. It was one of the decal options in the set and gave the monochrome tank a nice eye catcher.
