Borodino 1812, Raevski redoubt

Posted by Lacc on 10 Apr 2018, 10:08

Hi mates,
This is my new project, a scene of large Raevski redoubt during Borodino battle

The Battle of Borodino was a battle fought on 7 September 1812 in the Napoleonic Wars during the French invasion of Russia. The highlight of the fighting became the bloody struggle for the large Raevsky redoubt near the village of Borodino. The French managed to capture this redoubt late into the day, gradually forcing the rest of the Russian army to pull back as well.
Napoleon made the capture of the Great Redoubt a priority, even though this would mean heavy casualties.

I long to see some paint on these figures! And since I've seen your work before, any paint will do!

Very dynamic action there, great figure posing. This will look fabulous when painted.

Without paint those Italeri earthworks look like giant chocolate logs. Worth fighting over. :xd:

This is starting to very good indeed. I like the idea of swapping helmet less heads and thereby creating a very different looking figure.

Best wishes,

Chris

Outstanding painting and, as I said, the pose selection is excellent for creating action. You've captured that horse right at the moment of having just jumped over the redoubt. That's amazing.
