Latest book is a really good memoir of WW2:

The author describes at a company level, the army which undid the mighty Wehrmacht.
Very enjoyable to read & provides many insights into the US army and its personal & methods.

Two or three years ago.
A long, hot summer. I was swimming very, very often after work.
Sunbathing was a bit boring with the time.
I need something to read.
In the bookstore next day nothing catch me really. Want to leave the store. The orange book catch my interest. I am a little bit interested in mars, space.
Hmmm ???
I ask the sales girl: " Do you sell these book in the past? Is it usefull, good ?"
She answered: " I don`t know. But I sell it a lot."
Hmmm ???
"You tell me that just that I buy it ?"
"No we sell a lot of it. True."
Hmmm ???

I bought it finally.
I would say that was one of my best decision of that summer.

Ich habe es verschlungen.

How to say it with my simlpe english?
I read stopless till my brain get hurt, and the eye say stop.

I seem to be on a WW2 kick at the moment: which is strange because I don't game it as I find N**i excesses etc to be too upsetting.

However, this book on Oradour-sur-Glane is a well written account of the monstrous actions of the SS in a single French town. Disturbing but I couldn't put it down.

At the moment I am reading Vreme smrti, or the Time of death. It is a 4 books. I am reading book number 2 describign the battle of Kolubara. We have ecranization of battle of Cer in the movie March on Drina, which is great old 1964 movie about the battle with charges, trumpet sound like in old western movies and pyrotehnic . There is no movie about battle of Kolubara. The book is quite long and hard to read. Funny thing is that every literature female teacher in Serbia is fascinated with this book. My teacher at middle school offered A for end of year if somebody reads all 4 books, which is boring for age of 15 to 18 since it is written by old boring man. My grandmother also liked that book. Reason is her surname before marriage was same as the writter, so when she was on exams, everybody asked her ,,Are you close relative to famour writter?,, So she felt honored. She red all his books, which annozed me, since I don't like idolize anything.
