Black Sails

Posted by Dutchelm05 on 11 Jan 2018, 18:31

Hello ,
Can anyone tell me where I can find the level of detail that is seen in the Black Sails opening. The model details are amazing and want to see if such model are available.
Sorry I couldn't upload the images but here is the you tube version.

Thanks in advance

I might be wrong but I suspect these are computer generated images (CGI) and that there are no actual physical models.

However, the intricate detail did sort of remind me of pics of some small carved wooden panels that one of the guys posted here a while ago.

Thank you all for the great information.
What a shame there is not models that are this dynamic.
Do anyone know who provide the best detailed models available commercially?

All the best

That would depend on a lot of things. Scale, period and personal taste for a start.

Thanks Paul for your replay,
I mainly work with 1/35 scale and up to 120mm pieces.
I am open to working with most periods and styles from baroque period to almost any military time frame.
My hobby is making holograms so details models are best.
I prefer resin but plastic is OK as well.
Thank you for any ideas you might have.

If talking about 1/72 ships, there are some options available.

A few examples from the wide variety of excellently detailed but expensive high-quality 1/72 models:
CalderCraft

Dusek

Mamoli

Billing Boats

Krick

Revell, Zvezda, ICM, Trumpeter, Merit, Emhar, Airfix & others offer reasonably priced plastic kits for your desired & further periods (ancient, middle ages or modern) as well.

Good luck with your projects. :yeah:
