French Line Lancers

Posted by FredG on 03 Dec 2017, 20:01

These have been in the stash for a while so it's time to give them an airing, they're Newline 20mm.

I've had the files out so they look pretty clean now. The Bosch screwdriver and a 0.9mm drill did the necessary deed despite a bit of screaming and the odd curse.

It looks like I'll be having fun making pennants and the regimental flag.

At the moment the intention is to go for the 6th Regiment but anything can happen before the paint hits the figures

Hello Mr Fred.

If you mount them on Hat Prussian hussar horses you will be very pleased with them. The mounts are slightly bigger than Newline and give the impression that the figures are bigger than they actually are.

Best wishes,

Chris

Shall we just say that they're more anatomically correct now. The surgery was corrective

A quick spray with primer and the figures look really well defined. They should be a treat to paint.

These are certainly easy to paint. I got quite a bit further than I'd expected in the first session. They're a little more colourful than Saxons :-D .

Interestingly I discovered that the Trumpeter was the only one to have his belt over the tunic tails.

Now it's the little bits and a lot of edging 8)

Looking very nice! But according to your Saxons, isn't all colours combined white?

They're coming along quite nicely. I was particularly pleased with the helmets.

Good progress. Looking good. And a nice method with the cocktail sticks and the styrofoam! ;-)

Start with silver over white, grey to green, red, black now with gold and yellow.
Each time I watch this channel I get more and more color on my screen.

The trumpeter can blow into his trumpet as hard as he can.
There is no hole for sound coming out.
It`s impossible to signal the start of the attack!
Clearly visible to all poses of the figures. They sit and wait.

If you were sitting on the horse next to the trumpeter, on his right, you'd be very happy with that trumpet.

I would let go the sound in and pass it to the other ear out. Because in between there is ... :eh:

Can we agree that this is a trumpet for deaf people.
And only Susofrick will be able to play the right sound.
