This and a few other 1/72 news were announced last November.

6217 - British 25-pound howitzer with crew
Medieval Japan
6408 - Monk Archers
6409 - Monks with Yari & Naginata
6418 - Monks with Naginata
6423 - Monks with Arquebus
WWI
6900 - British Infantry 1916
6901 - German Infantry 1916
6902 - British 81mm Stokes Mortar with crew
6903 - German 7,58cm Mortar with crew
6904 - British Vickers MG with crew

You're right, I oversaw it. And Thanks for reminding that old future list. I can remember the sketches and other boxartwork. Good for some wishful dreams.
Especially because some nice pics of Borodino Russian Jäger and French fusiliers where made too.
I still look at the masters of the Russian Jäger every now and then.

German WW1 mg08 with crew........

"Abandon hope all ye who enter here"
Zvezda don't want to do new 1/72 figures. Even more: they are finishing production of the old figures. Now about 80% sets are discontinued, and I'm waiting 2018 catalogue with fear...

Not "another", but "THE LAST". British staff will not be made as separate set - as was said on Zvezda's official forum.

BTW, question for english-speaking members: name "german HEADQUARTERS in winter uniform" is correct? I always thought headquarters means only building or room - not humans ("staff", "command group").

Thanks. Thanks for what? For answering and bringing the news. What news? No news. Its over for ever and ever. It's was good as long as it lasten and Zvezda set a standard ( minor point: the oversize)
Well, I'm happy I bought all I wanted and needed on time. I'll buy the last one just for fun and for reason out of nostalgia. End of that era.

I think staff would have been a better word.

Headquarters can refer to an establishment in a unit eg a division and usually abbreviated to HQ. In the field/on campaign (known as forward HQ) it can be vehicles and soldiers and could include signals and recce. The staff would be divisional HQ staff so HQ staff is fine. UK and US are similar. The German forward HQs were similar though the Regiment had more autonomy so the figure group in the set could be Regimental HQ staff and would have vehicles and be mobile.
Montgomery commanded the 21st Army Group in WW2 and this would have an HQ with its staff this comprised 2 armies British and Canadian which would have their own HQs and so on to corps and divisions. Rear HQ would be in the UK and then in 1944 in Whitehall, London. I presume German rear HQ Führerhauptquartiere was in Berlin

Last week Zvezda promised in 2018 to realise their former anounces: German anti-tank team and German snipers.
Maybe something is changing?... :yeah:

That's great news - was that news posted on their Russian message board? I wonder if that means they will also produce the Soviet 120mm mortar set that was also cancelled, that and the German sniper set were the two cancelled sets I wanted most.

I know it’s childish and not very useful, but has anyone still got the pages with the announced but not released sets of the Zvezda catalogue? Just for the dreaming bit (which is an essential part of this hobby too ;-) ).
Regards!

It was told in a conference during an exhibitioin "World of childhood 2017" (toys, games, models) in Moscow - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QO7sfh6ZyYw&feature=youtu.be&t=2675 (in Russian, of course 8) )

BTW, new models of tanks 1/72 also will be: T-35, Pz.IVH, T-14 "Armata".

There were masters of the russian jäger from Zvezda on show? I never saw them. Are there pictures, you can show us?

I also remember there once was the anouncement of a roman spear catapult or something like that from Zvezda, which never saw the light of day.

I got pictures of the masters of the Russian Jäger, but don’t know how to post them...
But I can sent them to you by email? Four pictures, eight troopers, three staff.

This is great news, thank you for posting this info. I will be so happy if really Zvezda makes new 1/72 figures and vehicles in 2018.

I have uploaded the pictures of the forgotten Zvezda masters for the Russian Jägers. Thankfully Marc Zijp have sent them to me.
These figures look so good and as the finest crafmanship (I most like the lying down man loading), it's a real shame they were never produced. We can only hope for another day...

Enjoy (click for bigger pictures):

Come on, Strelets are so bad they have to get better...or you get use to looking at them. Actually their sculpts aren't too bad but their poor production means loads of flash and lost detail....sad...
