You are most welcome. The difference is probably due to the light, casting shade and making the visual difference.

Best wishes,

Chris

Photoshopping the footbases away is tedious and not very fun. But here's another shot, I love this filter:

Lots of strength behind Pickett's men but not enough to break through...

Bought the new Strelets figures, these are from the "Confederate troops on the march" set, and i don't think I'll use them or buy more...

Command was nice though.

But you painted them nice at least. :-) Looking a bit like old Strelets figures.

Well all expectations were dashed, even a decent paintjob don't save these figures, and I spent some money on the sets, that could have been spent on better brands.

A pity you can't use them, but seeing how they look and know what you have used before there is no way to sneak them in anywhere other than under the dio-table.

Here's how they look in their marching pose:

I think Strelets should be proud of their new sets like the Roman Auxiliary set and the progress they've done in sculpting, but to be honest all of the ACW marching sets were unusable.

Union side, though I really need to retire the Esci figures...

Hello Mr Traveller.

Just a suggestion but if you rig up a sky backdrop your lovely work will come to life.

I did an article in the modelling section and is it really easy to do. The pictures will have disappeared but it is still self explanatory.

Happy Modelling.

Thanks for posting the new figures and your good painting. I agree partly with your critic. The plastic of the new figures are too soft which caused many problems especially with the rifles. I use hot water, to put the figures in the water and to make the rifles more in straight lines and also little more slimer.
The sculpting of the figures isn´t bad. They are not so well done like the new Napoleonics, but they are really an good extension-offer of the ACW-range. I regret only that they are a little bit too small and slim in comparison to the other existing plastic-sets. The Esci figures fits better to them than the old Italeri, Imex or Revell.

It should be noted though that they have two more ACW sets with same theme in the pipeline, advancing or charging, so let's cross our fingers that they're much better so all hope is not lost.
