The idea! An amount of details. How it is executed! From the top of the column to the man in the base with his bow. That Medusa wave around the breaking column in an upstanding turn of her body! All these paint on scales!
The wave of the segment protectors of the fighter! The whole fighting dynamic of the figure! The panting.
And to dot of the i`s and cross the t`s it is the position of the eye. By slightly turned head the eye are moved to focus the target and not paint in the center of the white! Also well catch with the camera!
Just to name some of all highlights.

A lot of imagination, skill, time, patient is inside this superb work.
Thumb up.
:yeah:

PS: I was positive surprised that you do an answer to my Dio "Paradise bird". Till I realized now that you do these very dynamic medusa Vignette.

And it is nice to let us see some work in progress pic.

The fish tank columns work very well, and this is clever use of them ,and above all the painted figures too. Although I clearly see this as a win by Medusa, as he the warrior is about to turn to stone! The whole concept of using what props and figures we can in order to display art in all its colourful forms is always one of personal choice, and my comments kindly placed here, infer no slight at all. :-D OK? So well done Ben90,it in total is a wonderful presentation.    BB

Opp`s! Sorry Ben90,and guys, my mistake,I had thought it to be this cool item above.
Call it an age thing! ;-)

Now the greatest thing in making mistakes,
is having the bright spark to say sorry for them.
Then once more upon a fancy footloose road,
travel along it for more surprises to come,
as indeed did Alice after falling down that awesome hole! :-D BB

Thanks for the comments! Yes, the columns are self-made bu a roll of putty and balsa-wood stripes glued around that roll.

Congratulations to Ben for winning the award, sculpting his own 'action' hoplite and painting the best Greek shield pattern I have ever seen.

Thanks again! I can only repeat that the painting competition is great fun and it was a pleasure to duel with those great entries!
And one important thing: It is the forum (and its members, of course) that "told" me painting this way. When I started to paint I couldn´t even imagine to paint figures this way. So all the comments and advices since I´ve joined were extremely helpful! Maybe I will show some work of my beginning compared to the work now... but let´s see ;-)

Ben90--

I agree this forum is a great place to learn and improve an entire range of tools and techniques. And, once a hobbyist gets REALLY good, like you have done, it is a great place to hang out and celebrate successes and teach the next group of eager learners.

Damn, Medusa must have looked into my eyes. I feel as if i've grown to stone. But maybe this is just because the view of this work of art captivates me so strong... ;-)
