Vienna 1683 - No quarter given

Posted by krugi3 on 16 May 2017, 10:22

Hello!

After dropping out of the painting competition I can present you my latest Diorama of my Vienna 1683 series, this time with the rather archaic description of "No quarter given".

I really liked it too. Fabulous looking figures and a real sense of action.

Advantage orient.

A small active spot of European history.
Painting is very well done.

Hi Krugi,

very nice vignette with good pose interaction and painting. I like the loud colours of the janissaires' clothes.... just why do they have yellow faces?
Makes them appear as the bad guys ;-)

Hello Michael!

The faces are not yellow in reality (Humbrol redbrown, highlighted with Humbrol US Tan), but on some photos it looks like. Most of the pics from this vignette appear to have yellow veil (bad light, too good light, wrong camera adjustment, ...).

Sorry, wrong colours - I tried something new (Humbrol US Tan highlighted with Vallejo Dark Skintone).

Dear Krugi3,

Your work looks perfect... except for the yellow light.

Michael Robert is asking the right question, its not about your paint but about the light turning all light painted tones into yellow. For no good reasons we have seen this yellow tone before on other very nice work of yours.

What is wrong and difficult about using some simple daylight?
Or replace that lamp for a led light?
Or do some adjustment in your camera or computer?

The quality of your work deserves that I think.
